PODCASTS EXPLORING POP CULTURE, FANDOM, AND THE EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPE US.
The Nerd Room
More than 500 episodes. More than a decade of fandom.
Since 2015, The Nerd Room has been exploring the worlds of Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and beyond.
Hosted and produced by Tim Truax, the podcast has grown into one of Canada's longest-running independent fandom shows, with more than 500 episodes produced over the last decade.
What began as a creative outlet became the foundation for Nerd Room Studios, inspiring new projects, live experiences, and a community built around the stories that bring people together.
Because fandom is always better when it's shared.
THE NERD ROOM RETURNS THIS SUMMER
Fandom - COMING 2027
Every fan has a story.
Fandom is an upcoming documentary-style video podcast uncovering the human stories behind fandom.
Hosted by Tim Truax, each episode goes beyond the fandom itself to explore why it matters. Through candid conversations and cinematic storytelling, guests will share the moments, experiences, and connections that shaped their identity, created a sense of belonging, or helped them navigate life's challenges.
From comic books and movies to sports, gaming, music, and beyond, Fandom reveals how our passions become part of who we are.
Filmed and recorded at Calgary's Offset Studios and funded through the TELUS STORYHIVE Video Podcast Program, Fandom will debut on Telus Optik TV, Telus STORYHIVE YouTube Channel, and podcast feeds in early 2027.
Because this isn't just about what we love.
It's about who we become through it.
Meet Your Host: Tim Truax
Tim Truax is a podcast host, producer, storyteller, and community builder based in Calgary, Canada.
For more than a decade, Tim has been creating conversations around pop culture, shared passions, and community through podcasting. In 2015, he launched The Nerd Room, a pop culture podcast that has grown to more than 500 episodes, becoming one of Canada's longest-running independent fandom podcasts.
His passion for bringing people together through shared interests led him to PodSummit, an annual creator and community-focused event that he helped transform into Canada's premier podcast gathering. Since taking the reins in 2023, Tim has worked to expand PodSummit's reach beyond Calgary, welcoming podcasters, creators, industry leaders, and storytellers from across the country while building a vibrant community centered on collaboration, creativity, and meaningful connection.
As a husband and father, Tim believes that our identities are shaped by the people, experiences, and communities that matter most to us. That perspective continues to influence the stories he explores and the conversations he creates.
